Director General
Brig Gen YD Ahmed
The current Director-General of NYSC Brig Gen YD Ahmed assumed duty as the 22nd Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps on 30th January, 2023 following his appointment by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.
He has the following 5 points agenda for his administration of the scheme.
- Improving security, welfare of Corps members and Staff to engender optimal service delivery to the nation;
- Providing enabling environment for Research and Development for the advancement of the Scheme;
- Streangthening stakeholder’s engagement for the promotion of the frontiers of the Scheme
- Enhancement of capacity building to stimulate efficiency and higher corporate performance; and
- Deepening the impact of the Skill Acquisition and Entreprenuership Development (SAED) Programme.

Community Development Service is one of the four cardinal programmes of the Scheme and the face of the NYSC in rural communities. It is worthy of note to State that through Corps CDS activities, the NYSC is recognized by Development partners as a principal organization and a major player on the issue of development within communities and across the nation.
